The Prince of Wales has reportedly no interest in mending his relationship with his estranged younger brother as he has "closed his mind to thoughts of reconciliation any time soon".

This weekend, friends of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex let slip that the couple may accept a Christmas invitation, should they receive one this year.

But Palace insiders warned that if they decide to return to the UK for Christmas, William and Kate will not attend Sandringham this year, citing the deepening rift between the two brothers.

Now royal expert Jennie Bond claimed that feelings between William and Harry are "much too raw" still and there is a particular reason the Prince of Wales is refusing to reconcile with his brother.

She told OK!: "I think William has closed his mind to thoughts of reconciliation any time soon and has simply moved on with his life.

"It’s probably his coping mechanism, just as Harry says he blocked out all feelings about losing his mother for the first few years after Diana’s death."

The expert pinpointed that the heir to the throne is fully focused on his role as Prince of Wales and has no time to deal with the feud.

Bond added: "William will probably have to deal with the rift with Harry one day but right now he is making his mark as Prince of Wales and enjoying great popularity and a wonderfully happy home life.

Prince Harry has been estranged from his brother ever since he and Meghan quit their royal duties in 2020.

The brother's relationship has worsened after the duke published his explosive tell-all memoir earlier this year, in which he made several accusations and revelations against the Royal Family.

Harry also accused his older brother of "physically assaulting" him.
