Did you spot all of the cockroaches in time? No worries if not, the answers are above.

According to the creators of this brainteaser, it takes an average of four minutes to solve, and 70 percent of participants were unable to find any of the cockroaches.

Meanwhile, just 10 percent of participants could find two out of three cockroaches in the image.

While brainteasers like this one might seem like quick informal pieces of fun, there is a more serious side to them. Brainteasers and other psychological challenges such as crosswords are great exercises for the mind.

The more exercise the mind does, the more likely it is to be healthier in the long term, potentially reducing someone’s risk of developing a neurological condition like dementia.

This doesn’t mean that doing brainteasers every day will stop someone from getting dementia, other factors can have a much more significant impact.

What it does mean is that brainteasers can have a positive impact by potentially keeping the mind sharper for longer.
