Coronation Street's Gary Windass to 'kill again' as fans 'work out' next victim

Coronation Street's Gary Windass may be a fan favourite, but he has a dark history.

Coronation Street: The Barlow's interrogate Peter

fans predicted Gary Windass (played by Mikey North) will kill again following Monday's episode of the soap.

While Gary is ultimately a good character, he is also a killer, having murdered villain Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) in self-defense.

While he has managed to stay on the right side of the law since then, viewers were left feeling he might make the wrong decision in dealing with his stepson Liam Connor's (Charlie Wrenshall) bully.

The latest instalment saw schoolboy Liam being tormented by a group of bullies who framed him for stealing a classmate's trainers.

Liam refused to reveal the truth, but his mum Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), and stepdad Gary could tell it was too out of character for Liam to have been true.

Later Liam told the two he'd rather be expelled than be "a grass," confirming their suspicions he was covering for someone.

Gary wanted to let Liam's teachers know but Maria was reluctant to go behind her son's back.

Gary warned Maria he wouldn't be letting it go and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Later, Gary found Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), who's been bullying Liam.

"I know you stole the trainers," Gary told the schoolboy.

"They found them in Liam's locker," Mason argued before Gary replied: "It was you who put them there."

"And who's told you that?" Mason asked, to which Gary admitted: "No one, I just know Liam.

"But also, I know lads like you - I'll tell you what, you stay away from Liam and we're done, but if not I imagine you'll be seeing a lot more of me, and next time I won't be so friendly."

It didn't take long for fans to predict a dark twist for Gary, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to predict he could go as far as killing Mason.

@I_am_KenBarlow jokingly penned: "#Corrie 'If you leave Liam alone that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.' - Gary Windass to Mascara Mason."

"Gary Windass giving me "I kill before.....I kill AGAIN" vibes. #corrie," @crimson_crowbar wrote.

@lightbebe2020 added: "Gary is gonna kill this eyeliner-wearing bully...#Corrie."

Another shared: "#corrie #coronationstreet Liam should get Gary to sort out the school bully."

@Ralph_Hapschatt posted: "That annoying bully kid in #Corrie. Someone needs to knock him out."

@TheGrimesTwins3 commented: "Gary Windass planning his next victim by Christmas. #Corrie."
Coronation Street continues on Wednesday at 8pm on ITV.
