Joe Swash sets record straight on EastEnders return as he teases Christmas special

EXCLUSIVE: Joe Swash, who played Mickey Miller on EastEnders on and off between 2003 and 2011, discussed whether a return was on the cards for his character in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.

has revealed whether he believes a return to could be in his future in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.

The star, who travelled down to Kent with his family for a staycation at Haven’s new flagship park on the coast earlier this year, also teased an exciting EastEnders-themed show that is airing this .

The actor, who is married to fellow winner , opened up about if he thinks his character Mickey Miller will make a comeback on the soap.

“Listen, I love EastEnders and I think I'm doing something with them over Christmas,” Joe said.

“Not on the show,” he clarified. “But we're doing a BBC three show about them.

“So I always try and keep my toe in with EastEnders, because I love them,” Joe continued. “The two TV loves of my life are EastEnders and I'm A Celebrity.”

Joe won his series of ’s I’m A Celeb in 2008, going on to become a host of I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp and even meeting his future with Stacey on the show.

“I always try and keep in touch with them and stuff like that,” Joe said of his two favourite shows.

“The thing is with EastEnders, you know, if they want you back, they’ll have you back,” he continued. “They bring people back from the dead.

“If they want me that badly, they would have had me by now,” he reflected. “So I think it’s one of those things, you know, things move on, I've moved on, the show has moved on.

“You never know,” he added. “But that option has not been there yet, so I haven’t had to make that decision.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Joe went on to praise the newly revamped Haven Kent Coast holiday park, which has recently undergone an £18 million transformation to include lots of exciting activities for kids, including a 6m jump, segways and trampolines.

“I think it's really important to go somewhere where it caters for the kids - where they've got enough entertainment and enough things to do,” he said.

“As long as they’re entertained, then holidays are a lot easier. That's why I thought Haven Holiday Park was so amazing. There's so much! I was honestly knocked sideways by how much they've got for the kids there.”
