King Charles Friday ritual means he can spend more time with George, Charlotte and Louis
The King is reported to be spending more time at Windsor Castle meaning he is just a short distance from the Wales family in Adelaide Cottage.
King Charles turned 75 last week and it seems the passage of time has brought him closer to his three grandchildren from the Prince and Princess of Wales.
According to a Royal insider King Charles "wants to spend more time with" Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and has been using more time at Windsor Castle to see the Wales' children who stay at Adelaide Cottage on the Royal estate.
It has been reported the King's other grandchildren, four-year-old Archie and Lilibet, aged two, sang happy birthday to the sovereign in a video shown to him last week.
But with Prince Harry and Meghan's children being based in the United States, Charles has reportedly been keen to see George, Charlotte and Louis who reside much closer to home.
A source told GB News: "Charles wants to spend more time with his grandchildren.
"There's so much love there. Before, they were miles away from the Waleses but geographically they are now much closer so he can spend more time with them, and he's very glad [of it]."
Previously Prince William and Princess Kate lived in Anmer Hall in Norfolk but moved to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate in the summer of 2022.

In 2018 Prince William was quoted as saying that making time for his father and children to spend time together was something "I'm working more heavily on, put it that way."
He added: "I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children.
"Now he's reached his 70th year it's a perfect time to consolidate a little bit because, as most families would do, you are worried about having them around and making sure their health's OK – and he's the fittest man I know but, equally, I want him to be fit until he's 95.
"So having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to play around with the grandchildren. Because when he's there, he's brilliant. But we need him there as much as possible."
