Meghan Markle is "secretly messaging" King Charles with updates on her two chidren, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, it's claimed.

Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's ongoing tensions with the Royal Family, it appears that Meghan is keen for the two little ones to have a bond with their paternal grandfather.

This new revelation comes from author Omid Scobie, who writes in his latest royal book 'Endgame', that he was "surprised" to discover that Meghan had maintained contact with her father-in-law.

Endgame will be released next week, on November 28, but extracts and content have been shared through the media and by the author himself.

Tensions between the couple and the royals have escalated even further over the past few months, but it appears that both parties could have Archie and Lilibet's best interests at heart.

Despite writing about Meghan's contact, Mr Scobie claimed that the mother-of-two wasn't connecting "directly" with the King.

In his book, the author emphasised Meghan's "willingness" for her children to have a bond with their grandfather.

Speaking of Prince Harry, Mr Scobie suggested that he feels the Duke has "unfinished business" with his family.

Mr Scobie told PEOPLE: "His challenges will be to find something that balances that out so we can see him working in a space that isn't connected to the ties that bind from the past."
