Meghan Markle put on a golden display for onlookers at the San Jose Sharks v Canucks game in Vancouver, wearing over £40,000 worth of jewellery.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, attended the game with her husband Prince Harry, 39, who was asked to do the honours of starting the game by dropping the puck.

While all eyes were on Harry, who was standing on a specially rolled out black carpet on the ice for his puck duties, Meghan Markle cheered on from the stands, wearing an impressive collection of bling.

The Duchess paired a black sweater top with striking Altuzarra ‘Serge’ black boot-cut trousers, with a £635 ($750) price tag.

She complimented her all-black outfit with a trio of Cartier accessories, wearing the brand’s Juste un Clou Small Necklace in Yellow Gold and Diamonds, worth £12,122 ($15,200), along with their signature ‘Love’ Yellow Gold Bracelet, worth up to £5,026 ($6,300), and the Gold Tank Française Watch, which retails at £24,900.

Meghan Markle finished off her look with a Lorraine Shwartz ‘Against Evil Eye’ Five Eye Diamond Pave Bracelet, which retails at £14,754 ($18,500), with her outfit and accessories for the ice hockey game valued at upwards of £50,000.

The diamond-drenched Duchess seems to have impressed users on social media with her outfit, as one commented: “She looks great. She doesn't always get the fit right, but everything looks good here and she looks very happy.”

Another user wrote: “Really wanted the bracelet until I saw the price.”

While Meghan Markle’s high-end fashion has got the internet talking, Prince Harry channelled his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II with his puck drop duties, which she took on 22 years ago.

The late monarch had also been chosen to start a Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks hockey game back in 2002, with Elizabeth II wearing a maroon two-piece blazer and skirt, with black gloves and pumps to match.

Prince Harry kept his look more casual on the ice rink, opting for a pair of navy blue jeans with a crew-neck jumper and white top, finished off with a light-grey pair of shoes.
