and have been dominating the headlines recently over their  and the Duke of Sussex's alleged attempts at trying to buy a house in the UK.

Just this weekend friends of the couple told the Sunday Times this year in an attempt to mend the rift with Harry's family.

But now Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell has hit out at Harry and Meghan and claimed , while he also suggested where they would stay if that happens.

The Sussexes were given Frogmore Cottage to use as their home following their marriage, however, they were evicted from the property earlier this year following the publication of Harry's memoir Spare and three years living in the US.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, the former royal butler said: "I personally think there is no job or working role for them in the Royal Family, I think that's long gone.

"We shouldn’t expect them to come back as working members of the Royal Family because they aren’t going to, they are going to have to plough their own field now."

Burrell speculated that should Harry want to come back, .

He explained: "Harry should remember his days at Highgrove when he used to ride. It would have to be a house with its own grounds and security, similar to Highgrove.

"Harry and Meghan have to now establish how they want to set the stage for their future."

He also stated that the duke is "missing" his UK heritage and now the couple may be "thinking it's time to see something of the culture in England".

"I am sure that Harry misses some aspects of his life because his life in California must be quite vacuous at times whereas here it's filled with friends and family, his culture, and things he likes to do and I think he must miss some of that. They now have a family and may want to revisit some of Harry’s past," Burrell said.
