three children take after him in more ways than one, as they are all known by the same family name at school that he once used when he was a child.

, and all attend Lambrook School, near to the family home at Adelaide Cottage, but they are not called by their royal titles on school grounds.

In following with royal tradition, just as William and his brother Prince Harry did when they were at school, the children have adopted their parents' title to use as a surname.

As their parents are the Prince and Princess of Wales, so the children are called George Wales, Charlotte Wales and Louis Wales.

This is to help them feel like normal children at school and prevent them from receiving special treatment from their peers and teachers.

Harry and William also stuck to using their Wales surname when they joined the military, as at the time the Prince of Wales was their father, King Charles.

Before she inherited the Wales title, Kate went by Mrs Cambridge on a shopping trip to buy a wetsuit, as she wanted to keep a low profile.

However, while in the shop she realised she had forgotten her purse and had to reserve the item under that name to avoid drawing attention to herself.

A source close to the shopkeeper said: "He [Shopkeeper] was happy with that, but then produced a pen and asked for her name.

"Perhaps she was trying to play down her destiny as future Queen, but she replied 'Mrs Cambridge'.

"He was looking straight at her and actually commented that it was quite an unusual surname. He hadn’t a clue who she was. She just smiled and said she’d be back."

As George celebrated his 10th birthday earlier this year, speculation has been rife about which school he will attend once he becomes a teenager.

William and Harry both attended Eton College, close to Windsor Castle, breaking with royal tradition as before then Charles and his brothers had attended Gordonstoun in Scotland.

Charlotte will be unable to follow her brother Eton if George does go, as it is still boys only, with Kate's alma mater Marlborough College a possibility.
