Kate's mum Carol Middleton stepped in to make sure memoir wouldn’t 'set Harry off again'

Princess Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, had to reach out to her brother who is poised to publish a tell-all memoir and "set the record straight" after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's stints.

and have asked Gary Goldsmith  to not escalate tensions with and , insiders have claimed.

Goldsmith, who is younger brother and Kate's uncle, is said to have "already finished the first draft" of his bombshell book as he wants to "set the record straight".

He reportedly wants to give the Middleton family an after the Duke and Duchess's accusatory Netflix docuseries and Harry's own memoir, Spare.

Sources close to the Middleton family claimed Carole, Kate's mother, contacted her brother to ensure that no private family details were included in his book.

There are concerns that, if Goldsmith's book reveals too much, Harry might retaliate with another, even more explosive autobiography.

The duke previously revealed that he had enough material to write a second book.

The source told OK!: "There are disclosures they would never forgive him for if they were ever to be made public.

"William and Kate are trying to avoid that at all costs. They don’t want a book to fan the flames which could set Harry off again."

The source added: “Carole has made it very clear that there should be no private family business written about.

"Kate is afraid that it could provoke Harry into writing another book.

"Gary has already finished the first draft and a number of publishers have shown interest, but he knows it won’t get as much pickup if it’s only about him."

Last week, a royal expert warned that Goldsmith should not go ahead and publish his explosive memoir as it will make things worse between the Royal Family and the Sussexes.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!: "I think the tactic so far - to rise above the barbs directed from California and instead to concentrate on work and service - has been both dignified and effective."
