emerald-green velvet dress has been hailed as "her best look yet" by royal fashion followers, as she attended the annual Foreign Press Association Awards in London on Monday November 20.

The awards ceremony was also celebrating its 135th anniversary at the city's Sheraton Grand Hotel on Park Lane, with the Queen suitably dressed in a new outfit for the grand occasion.

The Crushed Velvet Elegant Maxi gown was by London-based label ME+EM, in the hue Dark Ultra Green, and is currently available online for £474 ($595).

accessorised the dress with some old favourite footwear, her Eliot Zed 'Serra' black fabric pumps, which retail for £295, and some jewellery from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Even though the price of the whole outfit totals at a cool £47,110, royal fans took to Instagram to praise her look, with one posting: "One of her best looks" followed by a heart eyes emoji.

Another commented: "Whoever is styling the Queen is doing a wonderful job. She's a stunning woman."

A third added: "Wow, she's looking exceptional in this! Nicely done."

Camilla often favours bluer hues, however one fan noted how "so many colours suit her".

During her speech at the awards ceremony Camilla appeared to poke fun at the years of bad press she suffered when news of her affair with then-Prince Charles broke.

Addressing the audience, she said: "I know, second-hand, a little of the responsibility of your profession. There are journalists in my family...and I have even been the subject of one or two stories myself over the years... I have also had the opportunity to visit a significant number of newsrooms and have seen how tough your work is.

"Particularly, if I dare say so, for women, who, despite the many hurdles they have faced, have been among the bravest reporters of all."

She continued: "From trailblazers like Martha Gelhorn and Christiane Amanpour, to those such as Marie Colvin (an FPA Journalist of the Year) and Daphne Caruana Galizia, who have so tragically paid with their lives, their courage was matched only by their conviction that the truth matters."

Earlier today the Queen sported a more classic look to welcome the President and First Lady of South Korea on the first day of their state visit, as she wore an Anna Valentine navy-blue coat.

She paired the outfit with a striking feather hat, designed by royal favourite milliner Philip Treacy, while Princess Kate turned heads in a stunning red outfit by Catherine Walker.
