Jamie Lynn Spears is one of the 12 celebrities being put through their paces in the I'm a Celebrity jungle this year.

The 32-year-old actress has had an emotional ride so far and has already opened up about her very famous family as well as dropping a series of heartbreaking bombshells about her teen pregnancy in 2008.

During a candid chat with her campmate Fred Sirieix about her life as a global superstar, Jamie Lynn looked back at the time she fell pregnant while starring on the hit child show Zoey 101.

The younger sister of Britney Spears explained how she had "20 paparazzi" on her and revealed how she had to relocate to Mississippi to get away from the media frenzy.

Jamie Lynn went on to say: “When I got out of that, I told my parents I was going to emancipate them, that way I could make my own decisions.

"I was secretly telling her I was going to doctor's appointments. I was going to meetings with a lawyer… My poor mum, we put her through it," the star revealed.

"And so then she was like, she didn’t want me to do that, she knew that would mean I’d probably marry the father and lose my fortune that I’d amassed over the years of working… she said, ‘Just go baby…’. It was the first time I was in control.

"My mum did [come and visit]. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, why I wouldn’t take the easy route sometimes, but I just don’t want to.”

But what really went down between the child superstar and her parents?

According to her 2022 memoir Things I Should Have Said, Jamie Lynn claimed her family attempted to pressure her into getting an abortion after she fell pregnant at age 16.

"My daddy and I stopped speaking and the tension was terrible," she wrote in her tell-all book, as well as recalling how her father Jamie pressured Jamie Lynn to go to a home for unwed mothers in Tennessee, where she would give up her baby for adoption.

The actress detailed: "He grabbed me by the shoulders and held on tightly in the hopes of bending me to his will," Jamie Lynn wrote. "I got in his face and yelled, 'NO! I won't go.'"

The family tension escalated so much that Jamie Lynn said she drew up papers to be emancipated, however, her "family denied my attempts to be independent," which meant she was left "with no other choice than to threaten to file for emancipation with the courts," her book stated.

Despite her family's alleged attempts to force Jamie Lynn to get an abortion, she ultimately gave birth on June 19, 2008, to her daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge, after stepping away from the limelight to focus on her life in Mississippi.

"Around here, everyone has the same focus," the new mum told OK! Magazine at the time, via MTV.

"The focus is family, and that's a good way to live," Jamie Lynn happily added.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues weekdays at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
