Xavi admits interest in Arsenal target

Barcelona boss Xavi has described Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi as an "extraordinary" player, prompting rumours that the La Liga champions could rival Arsenal for his signature.

The Gunners are aiming to bolster their midfield options for Mikel Arteta ahead of next season, with Zubimendi on their shortlist as the Real Sociedad midfielder does have a £52.8million release clause in his contract.

If the 24-year-old does opt to leave Sociedad this summer, Arsenal could face rival interest from Barcelona as Xavi is clearly a fan of the Spaniard.

“I consider Zubimendi as an extraordinary pivot, top player — he understands the game very well, he dominates with and without the ball," Xavi said.

“Zubimendi plays kind of football that we like here at Barca, it’s our style”.

United urged to go back for De Jong

Former Manchester United assistant Rene Meulenstein has told the Red Devils to "do everything" in order to land Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong this summer.

Erik ten Hag had been keen on reuniting with his ex-Ajax playmaker last summer but were unable to convince him to move to Old Trafford.

Meulenstein believes that the Netherlands midfielder would fit the bill perfectly as he insisted that another body is necessary in the middle of the pitch.

Chelsea have reportedly made a bid to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add attacking reinforcements this summer.

The Blues are among three teams to contact the Italian side, just a year after his £67million move from Fiorentina.

Elano to convince Neymar to PL

Manchester City hero Elano has claimed that he will attempt to convince Neymar to follow in his footsteps and move to the Etihad this summer.

Elano was a fan favourite during his two seasons in Manchester, before then going on to become Neymar's team-mate at Santos.

Now he believes that working with Pep Guardiola would benefit the Paris Saint-Germain star, and admitted that he will try and convince Neymar to join City.

He told Metropoles: “If I had that strength, I would want him to go to Manchester City. It would be good for him to work with Guardiola.

"I think I would give advice, I wanted him to go to City. I can try to do that, because of our friendship, but it’s not that simple.”

Pochettino approves Onana swap

Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly given his blessing to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as part of a swap deal.

The Argentine head coach is set to improve the goalkeeping situation at Stamford Bridge, as Edouard Mendy is expected to leave after Kepa Arrizabalaga took his spot in the team.

Onana's recent Champions League displays will only have further peaked Pochettino and Chelsea's interest, while Mateo Kovacic could move in the opposite direction and return to the San Siro.

InterLive claim that Pochettino has approved the potential swap deal, as Chelsea have previously floated the idea of Mendy, Trevoh Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in negotiations to land Onana.

Felix shuts down Newcastle transfer

Chelsea loanee Joao Felix has responded to rumours linking him with Newcastle on social media.

The Blues do not have an option to buy Felix from Atletico Madrid in his loan deal, as reports recently claimed that he was interested in returning to the Premier League - but also wants to play Champions League football.

Newcastle had been suggested as a potential landing spot, but Felix commented on an Instagram rumour by saying: "Just a bunch of know-it-alls!"

Liverpool discover Mac Allister release clause

Liverpool have reportedly been made aware of a release clause in Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister's contract.

The Reds are one of several teams interested in signing the Argentine this summer, as they look to overhaul Jurgen Klopp's midfield, as he is expected to move on from the Seagulls.

Journalist Pete O'Rourke has claimed that in Mac Allister's contract that was signed in October, there is a release clause that becomes active this summer.

Liverpool are now said to be discussing how to structure payments as they are in pole position to land the 24-year-old.

Glazers stalling Rabiot deal

The Glazers remain in discussions to sell Manchester United to either Sheikh Jassim of Qatar or Sir Jim Ratcliffe, though significant delays are impacting the upcoming transfer window.

Erik ten Hag and the club's recruitment staff will be unaware of their budget this summer, while talks are stalling for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The Frenchman is available on a free transfer at the end of the season and United are said to be interested in him, as he delays any decision in the meantime.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport: "He's always been on the list of Man United and he remains a player appreciated by Erik ten Hag so I'm sure there is an interest on the United side.

"From what I understand, Rabiot wants to wait and he doesn't want to decide anything now, because he knows United are not going to close any deal because of the owner situation."

However, Rabiot is unlikely to wait for a long period of time while his career is in the balance - as United risk being gazumped if they cannot end the takeover situation soon and press ahead with transfer plans.

No Bellingham swap deal

Jude Bellingham's summer transfer to Real Madrid appears to be edging closer, as Los Blancos negotiate his fee with Borussia Dortmund.

Personal terms are reportedly all agreed upon for the player to move to the Bernabeu next season, but there were rumours of Brahim Diaz being involved in a swap deal in order to bring the price down.

However, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that no such swap is in place and Dortmund are expecting to receive over £90million for the England star.

United told to sell duo

Former Manchester United forward Andy Cole has warned Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial that they are facing potential Old Trafford exits this summer.

He also had a message for Declan Rice who will be mulling over a potential move to United this summer in addition to Arsenal and Manchester City transfers.

Sancho and Martial have struggled to maintain regular playing time under Erik ten Hag and with the possible addition of a marquee signing such as Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen, may find themselves further down the pecking order.

Arsenal swap deal for Cancelo

Arsenal are reportedly in talks over a potential swap deal for Joao Cancelo, who could be set to end his Manchester City career this summer.

After years as a mainstay under Pep Guardiola, Cancelo left the Premier League leaders in January on loan to Bayern Munich but the German side are unlikely to sign him permanently.

Arsenal do hold an interest in the Portuguese full-back and claim that talks are ongoing over a potential swap that would see Kieran Tierney move in the opposite direction.

Tierney could leave the Emirates over a lack of playing time, while Guardiola is said to have first spoken to Mikel Arteta regarding Tierney during the World Cup - but the Gunners were reluctant to let him leave as he provided valuable cover to Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Ten Hag details transfer talks

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag revealed that he is speaking to chief executive Richard Arnold and football director "every day" regarding the club's summer plans.

The Red Devils will be unaware of their own transfer budget until the takeover process is concluded, but plans are still ongoing regarding incoming and outgoings.

Ten Hag reportedly wants a marquee striker such as Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen, but today admitted that a permanent deal for loanee Marcel Sabitzer was not their top priority.

“We will see but it's not our main focus, the main focus is Bournemouth,” Ten Hag said.

Pochettino to axe 7 Chelsea stars

Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly set to sell seven Blues players in order to raise over £100million this summer.

Following a fire sale from Todd Boehly and co that has seen over £600m spent in the previous two windows, the bloated squad at Stamford Bridge is expected to be significantly trimmed.

Mason Mount could headline the outgoing players as he has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Arsenal, though seven of his team-mates could follow him out of the door.

PSG move for United target

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly stepped up their interest in Napoli defender Kim Min-jae, who is also a summer target for Manchester United.

The Red Devils were said to be favourites for the centre-back's signature, but French outlet RMC Sport have claimed that PSG chief Luis Campos has met with the player's representatives over a potential move.

His preference does, however, appear to be the Premier League in a boost for United's chances, though they will hope that their impending takeover dragging on will not impact any deal.

Tuchel makes Cancelo admission as Arsenal wait

Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has refused to confirm whether Joao Cancelo will make his loan move from Manchester City permanent with Arsenal reportedly keen on the full-back.

Cancelo joined the Bavarian giants in January until the end of the season with a £62.8m buy option included, but the Portuguese has been in and out of the team.

Arsenal are understood to be keen on recruiting the 28-year-old, and while Tuchel says Cancelo is happy to stay in Germany, he cannot guarantee a deal will be reached.

"I have the impression that Joao Cancelo feels very comfortable here," Tuchel before Bayern's clash with RB Leipzig tomorrow.

"But all parties are part of the decision. His desire in training is unique. I have the feeling that he's really happy. We'll discuss everything else after the end of the season."

Frank Lampard has hailed Erling Haaland's "special" ability and revealed he tried to sign the Norwegian when he was Chelsea boss in 2020.

"When I was last at Chelsea I was really keen to get him here. His level was clear when we played against him at Salzburg," he told reporters in a news conference.

"I don't know if he would have decided to come anyway but I was a big fan. I was pushing big, he was the outstanding one."

Man Utd and Spurs battle for Palace star

Manchester United and Tottenham could be set to battle it out in the race to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer.

French outlet Foot Mercato report the Eagles are 'not against' the idea of selling the England international if they receive a big offer with United and Spurs both reportedly keen on the 22-year-old.

Guehi arrived from Chelsea for £18m in 2021 without making a single appearance for the Blues, but his stock has risen considerably at Selhurst Park and he would command a high transfer fee as a result.

Arteta gives update on Saliba contract

Mikel Arteta has called for patience as Arsenal continue to hold talks with William Saliba over a new contract with the club.

The Frenchman started every Premier League game this season until a back problem ruled him out for the final weeks of the season, and his absence has been sorely felt as the Gunners leaked crucial goals to all but end their title challenge.

Saliba's current deal expires in 2024, although the club have the option to trigger a one-year extension, and Arteta remains hopeful that an agreement on a new long-term deal can be reached.

"We are trying, we are having conversations and we are trying to maintain the talent that we have at the club," he told reporters.

"But things take time, we have to agree, there are different parties involved. I think everybody’s intention is the same so hopefully we will find the right solution."

Liverpool are looking at recruiting two potential stars for the future after weighing up moves for Orkan Kokcu and Tijjani Reijnders.

Jurgen Klopp will need to sign at least two replacements this summer after announcing Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would be leaving on free transfers, with Arthur Melo heading back to Juventus.

Kokcu, an attacking midfielder at Feyenoord, has emerged as a potential target, according to Football Transfers.

The report also claims AZ Alkmaar star Reijnders, 24, is on their radar ahead of a potential switch this summer, with Jude Bellingham heading to Real Madrid and Alexis Mac Allister proving to be an expensive signing at £75m.

Man Utd scout 'new Osimhen'

Manchester United are one of four Premier League clubs chasing Gent goal machine Gift Orban, who has been dubbed the next Victor Osimhen.

The 20-year-old has bagged 19 goals in 19 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League since joining the Belgian outfit and Europe's elite clubs have sent scouts to run the rule over the Nigerian forward.

He joined Gent for just £2.5m in January but now it is believed they could demand around £20m for his services this summer, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Fulham all watching the highly-rated forward, according to The Evening Standard.

United have been keen to secure a striker this summer but Osimhen, rated at £150m by his club Napoli, could be out of their price range - and Orban may be a more realistic, low-risk option for Erik ten Hag's side.

BREAKING: Man Utd confirm Jones exit

Manchester United have announced defender Phil Jones will leave the club this summer after 12 years of service.

The 31-year-old has been plagued by injury for much of his United career and has made only 13 appearances over the past four seasons.

The £16m signing from Blackburn will now depart on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30 as he attempts to revive his career elsewhere.

A club statement read: "Our no.4 is now taking some time before deciding his next move and everybody at United would like to wish Phil the very best of luck for the future."

Spurs eye surprise Chelsea move

Tottenham are reportedly lining up a surprise move for Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The Senegalese is under contract until 2025 but wants a new contract that puts him on a level standing with Kepa Arrizabalaga, which Chelsea are reluctant to do.

One of their goalkeepers is likely to leave this summer and Mendy, having barely played this season, looks the more likely candidate to depart.

The Daily Mail suggest Tottenham could make a shock swoop for the 30-year-old as a replacement for Lloris, although it remains to be seen whether the Blues would entertain selling to one of their biggest rivals.

Man Utd 'big favourites' to land £50m star

Manchester United are thought to be closing in on a deal for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae as Erik ten Hag's side are 'big favourites' to land the Napoli star.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano claims the South Korean is keen on the move and United can pay his release clause set at £50m, although the new Serie A champions are looking to extend his contract.

There is also understood to be interest from PSG, meaning United will have to move quickly to snap up the 26-year-old.

And his arrival could spend the end of Harry Maguire's four-year spell at Old Trafford, with the England international likely to be sold to make room for Kim.

Chelsea get green light for Caicedo

Chelsea could move unopposed for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo with Arsenal said to be focusing their efforts on signing Rice.

The Ecuadorian is under contract until 2027 after signing a new deal in January with a bumper pay rise and his performances have not wilted since then.

The Blues are looking to sign another central midfielder to partner Enzo Fernandez and reportedly see Caicedo as the ideal successor to N'Golo Kante.

Fabrizio Romano, speaking to Paramount+, claims the west London club are 'tracking' Caicedo, with Manchester United also keen.

Arsenal 'very confident' over Rice

Arsenal are “very confident” of signing Rice and feel they are the front runners as Mikel Arteta plans his first bid next month.

The Gunners have had their sights set on recruiting the West Ham captain for some time and, with the 24-year-old out of contract next year, the north London club are ready to test the waters.

They are already discussing the opening terms of the Rice bid in June, according to Fabrizio Romano, with West Ham likely to initially stick to their £100m asking price.

The France international will leave the club on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires and is set to spark a battle for his signature, with Chelsea and Tottenham also thought to be interested.

But the 25-year-old could be heading to Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his frontline, with Sport BILD linking the Red Devils with a move for the 16-goal striker.
