The UK’s best national park has ‘fantastic views’ - full list

National parks showcase the best nature and wildlife of the British Isles. The UK is lucky enough to have 15 beautiful national parks.

In England, 10 percent of land is national park while in Wales that soars to a whopping 20 percent. But where’s the UK’s best?

According to a survey by the experts at Which? Travel, Northumberland is the UK’s favourite national park.

It was awarded five out of five stars for peace and quiet and attractions while it got four stars for accommodation and wildlife.

One of the highlight attractions of Northumberland National Park is Simonside Woods, which has incredible views of the North Sea coastline and Cheviot Hills.

The circular walk up the Hills takes around three hours and is rated at moderate difficulty by Northumberland National Park.

‘Epemberton’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Fantastic views, good track up to viewpoints from the car park.”

‘David H’ wrote: “Simonside Hills is a natural gem in the Northumberland countryside. This walk is a must for anyone visiting the area.”

Another top site in the area is Cragside House and Gardens. The huge expansive gardens are one of the best places to see autumn leaves so move fast to catch a glimpse.

While the house is closed during winter, tourists can still wander the gardens and take part in National Trust Christmas activities.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in Wales took second place while the world famous Lake District placed third.
