Ukraine war LIVE: Putin now funding Hezbollah in horror escalation in Middle East

Russia's Wagner Group is reportedly looking to offer air defence support to Hezbollah in Lebanon or the Iranian regime.

Hezbollah Radwan group have plans to invade Northern Israel

Russia's private military company, the Wagner Group is offering to strengthen the air defences of either Hezbollah, a designated terrorist group in Lebanon, or Iran, according to the US Government.

The White House has described this move as "unprecedented defence cooperation" between the two enemies of the United States.

According to National Security Council spokesman John Kirby: "Our information… indicates that Wagner, at the direction of the Russian government, was preparing to provide an air defence capability to either Hezbollah or Iran."

The move has sparked alarm among conflict analysts some of whom believe Wagner's actions are a sign that Russia is willing to back any terrorist group or regime capable of attacking the West.

Ukraine commentator and X user @JayinKyiv wrote: "Russia is arming, financing, planning and sharing intelligence with ANY regime or terror group that is willing to wage war on the West."
