A content creator has gone viral on Instagram after showing how he prevents unwanted damage to his beloved garments, with his phone.

The video, shared by content creator Brad Canning, has inspired viewers to weigh in on the hack after sparking a conversation around the complexity of washing machine instructions on clothing labels.

“This is going to blow your mind, so you know all these crazy symbols on the inside of our clothes? Let me show you a little trick," Canning declared in his clip, which has racked up more than 24,000 likes.

He suggested taking a photo of the garment care label and letting your phone explain what each symbol means so you can adjust your washing machine settings accordingly.

“Grab your iPhone, open up your camera, take a photo nice and close - I use the macro lens," he instructed. “At the bottom here you will see a little washing machine icon, if you press that, you will see there it says ‘Look up Laundry Care’.

The catch is that the feature is only available on select smartphones - namely the iPhone SE - provided that they are on the iOs16 or 17 sets.
